Our Mission Statement

As our Mission Statement states, we "seek to find beauty
and value in film from a Christocentric worldview, contributing informative and meaningful articles to film criticism."
Not only do we love watching movies, but we believe it's important to
watch films with discernment. We realize movies communicate meaning
about God, revealing His handiwork and lovingkindness. In this way,
movies are not just evening fluff, but a significant expression of
sounds, images, and words.
We watch a wide variety of films, given our understanding that Romans
1:19 says, "Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them;
for God hath shewed it unto them." God created man in His image, and
thus, filmmakers cannot help but reveal Him in stories.
At the same time, we try to address the artistic and aesthetic
dimensions of film, seeing as how a creative, well-crafted secular film
often glorifies God in more ways than a badly made, so-called
"Christian" movie. Christ became the Word incarnate, and in the same
way, we believe Christians have the responsbility to emulate Christ's
example by creating good stories as mini-incarnations of the best
story: Christ's story.
As declaration of our beliefs, we subscribe to the Apostle's Creed:

"I believe in God, the Father almighty,

creator of heaven and earth.

and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord.

who was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit

born of the Virgin Mary.

suffered under Pontius Pilate,

was crucified, died, and was buried.

He descended into hell.

On the third day he rose again from the dead.

He ascended into heaven

and is seated at the right hand

of God the Father Almighty.

From thence he shall come again to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,

the holy catholic Church,

the communion of saints,

the forgiveness of sins,

the resurrection of the body,

and the life everlasting.

Amen."
